Basanti is a 31-year-old married woman from the small village of Latapota in Falakata (India). She is blessed with three children (two daughters and a son). She attended school until grade 1 and her husband studied until grade 8. One of her children reads in grade 1 and the other one is engaged in farming while her daughter is married. Basanti's husband is a farmer by profession who has been working on his own land for many years. Basanti looks after her household work and after that, she starts her agricultural activities. Together, they mainly grows rice paddy along with other seasonal vegetables. As farmers, they have a great passion for this profession, as all day long, without regards for climatic hazards; they go to look after their crops. The couple works tirelessly to provide financial sustenance to their family. They have many good customers for their polite and simple behavior and supply of good quality crops at a cheaper rate. Like the other farmers, they also dream of extending and improving their production. That is why Basanti is requesting a loan for the purchase of good quality paddy seeds, compost and fertilizer.
